Job Duties and Responsibilities of Warehouse Shuttle Driver:
- Operate yard trucks to shift trailers between different areas such as loading bays, staging zones, and external sites with punctuality and adherence to safety measures.
- Inspect trailers on a regular basis and keep track of any safety issues or maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate trailer operations by engaging in clear and concise communication with warehouse staff using two-way radios.
- Check doors and parking lots consistently to maintain operational efficiency and ensure trailers are positioned accurately.
- Modify the position of the trailer tandems to meet the legal staging standards.
- Ensure compliance with preventive maintenance procedures and report vehicle concerns in a timely manner.
- Can be used on a variety of surfaces including asphalt, concrete, and gravel.
- Undertake additional assignments as delegated by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience of Warehouse Shuttle Driver:
- A valid medical card is a prerequisite for obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Verified background in operating trucks and supervising the movement of trailers within a yard or warehouse location.
- Exceptional driving background and comprehensive comprehension of DOT rules.
- Skilled in the transportation of boxes weighing no more than 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in standing for prolonged periods and operating equipment with caution and efficacy.
- The ability to coordinate hand movements with visual cues and perform physical tasks with precision is vital for handling yard machinery and manual labor.
