Assistant Product Development Manager
Job Summary of Assistant Product Development Manager:
This role ensures product-to-market demands are met by balancing innovation, quality, and cost. As a member of the global cross-functional product team, you will collaborate across design, merchandising, technical design, quality assurance, sustainability, fabric R&D, and sourcing teams. A strong attention to detail and ability to navigate a global matrixed environment are essential.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Assistant Product Development Manager:
- Support category-level product development strategies that align with production strategies and divisional goals.
- Understand product development implications on merchandising and design decisions based on vendor and category nuances.
- Drive communication between brand teams and Asia-based product teams to ensure strategic alignment and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure financial targets are met through effective costing guidance.
- Manage and maintain BOM through PLM system to support accurate product execution.
- Communicate with international teams to resolve product execution issues in a timely manner.
- Create seasonal strategies to reduce fabric liabilities pre-line adoption.
- Ensure seasonal product availability and alignment with category-level strategy.
Qualifications and Experience of Assistant Product Development Manager:
- Experience in global product development, including cross-functional collaboration in design, merchandising, and sourcing.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple challenges simultaneously.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate within a matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated curiosity and learning agility with a desire to develop new skills and knowledge.
- Analytical thinking with the ability to optimize post-line adoption decisions.
- Experience managing product categories in partnership with international sourcing teams.
- Adaptable to shifting team priorities and responsive to customer and business needs.
