Aloha POS Engineer
Job Summary of Aloha POS Engineer:
Responsible for enhancing the in-restaurant technology experience by ensuring the stability and performance of the POS system and related technology platforms. This position focuses on resolving high-impact technical issues, streamlining support processes, and delivering innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency across multiple restaurant locations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Aloha POS Engineer:
- Investigate and resolve recurring technical issues using observability tools, logs, video footage, and call recordings.
- Quantify issue impact and validate deployment effectiveness through defined metrics.
- Utilize predictive intelligence to proactively detect trends in system performance.
- Analyze call and incident data to identify areas for automation and process optimization.
- Create and maintain troubleshooting tools, including decision trees and remediation strategies.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve production-level issues and implement technical improvements.
- Provide Tier 3 support for escalated and complex technical issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis for highly impactful technology problems.
- Document all resolutions and procedures thoroughly and accurately.
- Coach internal teams on best practices for technical problem resolution.
- Participate in major incidents and be available for on-call rotations.
Qualifications and Experience of Aloha POS Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 4–8 years of advanced IT support or development experience in a multi-unit enterprise environment.
- Extensive hands-on experience with NCR Aloha POS systems is required.
- Certifications such as A+, CSM, Network+, or ITILv4 preferred.
- Proficiency in automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, or UiPath, and familiarity with Agile frameworks and Linux environments.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts across various stakeholders.
- Ability to manage time-sensitive issues in a high-paced environment.
