Job Summary of Director:
This role leads the strategic planning, design, and execution of workplace environments across Gap Inc.’s North America Corporate Offices. As a senior leader within the Workplace Experience (WE) team, you will ensure that office environments support employee productivity, brand identity, cultural alignment, and business objectives.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Director:
- Develop and implement workplace design and construction strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of workplace construction projects, ensuring timely, on-budget delivery and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and engineers to ensure functional and brand-aligned workspace designs.
- Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-control measures in collaboration with finance and leadership.
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals including construction managers and designers, setting annual objectives that align with broader company strategies.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including selection, negotiations, and quality assurance, in partnership with procurement.
- Establish and maintain workspace quality control standards to ensure delivery of high-performing environments.
- Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and execution.
- Drive the development of workspace standards, including furniture systems, project toolkits, and design consistency.
Qualifications and Experience of Director:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in workplace or office construction and design, with 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and construction software.
- Ability to align design and workplace initiatives with broader business strategy.
- Expertise in budget planning, financial analysis, and cost-saving implementation.

Salary:
Typical range: $168,300 – $223,000 USD.
