Job Summary of Warehouse Driver:

This role revolves around overseeing the safe transportation of trailers within the warehouse, ensuring their transfer between staging areas, loading platforms, and offsite facilities. Responsibilities include operating yard trucks and managing the systematic placement of trailers in a bustling distribution environment that underscores safety, accuracy, and transparent communication.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Warehouse Driver:

• Use yard spotters to maneuver trailers between doors, staging pads, and offsite places effectively while prioritizing safety and efficiency.
• Conduct periodic trailer checks and document any safety problems or maintenance tasks that need attention.
• Ensure efficient collaboration with warehouse personnel by communicating through two-way radios for synchronized trailer movements.
• Monitor doors and lots through routine checks to uphold operational efficiency and ensure trailers are accurately placed.
• Properly position the trailer tandems to meet the legal staging criteria.
• Maintain adherence to preventative maintenance procedures and promptly flag any vehicle issues.
• Perform well on diverse surface conditions like asphalt, concrete, and gravel.
• Accomplish extra responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience of Warehouse Driver:

• A valid medical card is compulsory for individuals with a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Confirmed experience in driving trucks and overseeing trailer movements within a yard or warehouse facility.
• Unblemished driving record with a robust awareness of DOT guidelines.
• Ability to carry and maneuver boxes up to 50 pounds in weight.
• Competence in maintaining a standing position for long periods and handling equipment safely and effectively.
• Proficiency in hand-eye coordination and physical agility is required to operate yard machinery and perform hands-on tasks efficiently.
