Job Summary of Sales Associate:
This position is responsible for delivering an outstanding customer experience by engaging and connecting with shoppers and providing expert product knowledge. The role focuses on educating and informing customers about merchandise, promotions, and store events while executing operational tasks efficiently. The position supports store productivity, builds brand loyalty, and reinforces a customer-first culture.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Sales Associate:
- Engage and connect with customers to provide excellent service and build strong brand loyalty.
- Deliver expert knowledge of products to educate and inform customers about current merchandise and store promotions.
- Serve as a role model in achieving store priorities and executing daily tasks with the customer as the central focus.
- Collaborate effectively with store leadership and team members to complete operational processes in a timely and efficient manner.
- Support store activities before and after operating hours, including opening and closing responsibilities.
- Build and apply expertise in an assigned specialized functional area to support store operations.
- Use active listening and ask questions to identify customer needs and deliver personalized service.
- Handle unique or complex customer situations with professionalism and a solution-oriented mindset.
Qualifications and Experience of Sales Associate:
- Completion of job readiness training through a Gap Inc. nonprofit partner program.
- Effective communication skills and ability to engage both customers and teammates using technology.
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to identify and resolve service issues professionally.
- Adaptability and a mindset for continuous learning and improvement based on feedback.
- Capability to learn and apply procedural knowledge acquired through on-the-job training.
