Asset Protection Specialist
Job Summary of Asset Protection Specialist:
This role is responsible for protecting people, assets, and brand integrity through proactive safety and theft prevention strategies. Operating in a fast-paced retail environment, this individual plays a critical part in maintaining a safe and secure experience for employees and customers. By partnering with internal teams and external law enforcement, the role ensures timely response to safety concerns, high-risk theft events, and provides ongoing education in security procedures.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Asset Protection Specialist:
- Maintain a strong, visible presence on the sales floor to deter theft and promote a safe shopping environment.
- Investigate and address safety and external theft incidents using company technology such as CCTV and case management systems.
- Support store leadership in managing escalated customer situations while adhering to safety protocols.
- Monitor and help reduce inventory shrink by collecting and communicating loss prevention intelligence.
- Execute safe apprehensions in alignment with company guidelines and standards.
- Conduct training for store leaders and associates on safety procedures, theft prevention, and emergency protocols.
- Collaborate with law enforcement to support detailed case development involving habitual and high-risk offenders.
- Promote and reinforce awareness of store safety resources, including training, code of conduct, and open-door policies.
Qualifications and Experience of Asset Protection Specialist:
- Experience in high-pressure, multitask environments focused on safety, loss prevention, or related fields.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making under pressure.
- Professionalism, integrity, and commitment to promoting a secure retail environment.
- Familiarity with surveillance systems, incident reporting tools, and safety protocols.
- Willingness to wear a standardized uniform and body-worn camera in compliance with company policies.
